The sea cleaning project carried out by Globelink Ünimar Lojistik A.Ş. in cooperation with Şile Municipality gained a different dimension with the participation of FMV Işık University, another important organization for the region. The wastes collected from our waters by the two sea cleaning vehicles that met with our seas were transformed into an artwork project, which is one of the sustainability issues of the future and characterized by the concept of "Upcycling" for the first time in our country. The project of firsts attracts attention with its artistic and environmental value.

Over 450 Kilograms of Waste

Within the scope of the sea surface cleaning project implemented in 2023 in cooperation with Globelink Ünimar and Şile Municipality, two remote-controlled sea surface cleaning vehicles operating on the unique coasts of Şile met with our waters. The sea surface cleaning vehicles positioned in two different regions in Şile supported the cleaning activities in Şile Port, which is used for events, festivals and important organizations, and in the Ağva hotels area, which is an active location in tourism. The vehicles, each with a total capacity of 120 liters of solid and 15 liters of liquid waste, collected more than 450 kilograms of waste in a year.

Globelink Ünimar & Sile Municipality

The unwanted materials and wastes collected from our seas within the scope of the sea cleaning activities carried out by Globelink Ünimar and Şile Municipality were transformed into an art project with the support of Işık University, one of the important institutions for the region. This 2.5 meter high artwork project called “Loop” was designed by Soyhan Baltacı, Lecturer at FMV Isik University, Department of Industrial Design and under the sponsorship of Globelink Ünimar.

Environmental Sustainability

The “Loop” art project, which draws attention to the protection of our seas, aims to contribute to supporting environmental sustainability and leaving a more livable world for future generations. Based on the principles of upcycling, Döngü is a work of art that emphasizes the importance of environmental awareness and is located in the Yacht Harbor area of Şile, which forms the basis of the project.

Loop Art Project

The fish form used in the work is not only an aesthetic object; it also serves as a mirror that reflects the complex dynamics of life, the cyclicality of nature and the depths of the human soul. Its place in the history of art serves as a bridge that helps us understand this creature and nature as such. The elegant form of the fish offers endless areas of exploration in the creative waters of art, while swimming in the seas of imagination.
